Sonata's main utility is the ability to perform ALRs (Alternative Liquidity Raises) on the platform.

Sonata ALRs
This is a new type of crowdfunding mechanism, as seen previously with Opera. This functions like how a launch on Opera Protocol would work, but for a presale. There are no "investors", only a decentralized borrowing/lending mechanism managed by a DAO that funds your new token's liquidity pool in exchange for fees. More details coming soon!
